What is Artiste Connect?

Artiste Connect is a funding platform for talented local artists to support them on their struggle to finance the production of their projects.

Our aim is to connect the artist with their fans in a non-traditional manner which is crowd funding for producing an artist’s project. This encourages the more sophisticated fan base to become potential investors, translating their passion for the arts into something that can yield profit.

Artiste Connect is not just about project productions. It’s about bridging the gap between the artist and the fan, as well as the artist and the businessman. Our goal is to connect and support both the artist and the fan.


How does it work?

You create a project you think have the potential to be turned into a great album, movie, book, theatre play etc. Then you create your Pledge Package where you can customize your cash pledge options. This is where your supporters can choose and easily click their preferred cash pledge. (Click here to see sample Pledge Package)

Lastly, to get your project funded, using your Artiste Connect page, you can invite your relatives, fans, friends, or even capture like-minded individuals to pledge a certain amount of money for your campaign.

Once you reach 20% of your Target Pledge, Artiste Connect will contact you to sign a contract that will allow management to collect your pledges in your behalf. You can also support a project by pledging a certain amount, depending on the details of a project you wish to see come to life.


Who can use Artiste Connect? Can I create a project from any location?

Anyone who has a creative campaign can use Artiste Connect. As of now we are only open to those who reside in the Philippines because we need your presence to sign contracts for legal purposes. However we are currently in a transition stage, we are eventually working to bring this service to South East Asia and the world.


Is it free to sign-up with Artiste Connect?

If you have a Standard sign-up with Artiste Connect, which is the regular sign-up thru the net, putting up your project is FREE. However, If you sign-up with Artiste Connect with a Premium Package, which is a sign-up thru info@artisteconnect.com or directly thru one of our agents and have requested specialized terms, your contract and administrative fee with Artiste Connect will depend on the customized package that you choose. Does it cost anything to collect the funds I raised?

When you reach 40-50% of your Target Pledge, Artiste Connect will contact you to set a meeting and sign a contract stating that you are allowing Artiste Connect to collect your raised funds on your behalf to support your campaign. This is subject to an administrative fee which is 10% percent of the TOTAL AMOUNT OF COLLECTED PLEDGES, which is merely a service fee to handle accounting, to secure legal documents, and to sustain the site. Then we will move your project from Community Projects to the Featured Projects to highlight your project.

What if I don’t reach 40-50% of my pledge target and still decide to collect the total of the pledges I collected or the funds I raised?

Email info@artisteconnect.com stating you are requesting to collect the funds you raised. Then Artiste Connect will contact you to sign a contract that will allow us to collect your funds in your behalf to support your campaign. This is subject to an administrative fee which is 10% percent of the TOTAL AMOUNT OF COLLECTED PLEDGES, which is merely a service fee to handle accounting, to secure legal documents, and to sustain the site.

Is it secure?

Secure and legitimate, we are recognized by the local government and acknowledged by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission or (S.E.C.)

CREATING A PROJECT FAQs:

How do I create a project?

1. First you have to sign up.
2. Create Project on your Edit Project Page: you create a project you think have the potential to be turned into a great album, movie, book etc. Don’t forget to complete all fields.
3. After you made a solid project and completed all fields, continue by completing your Edit Pledge Options page to create your Pledge Package. (Click here to see sample Pledge Package.)
4. Start blogging! After you’ve completed creating your Project and Pledge Package, click on Home and you will see that your page is already active. Copy the URL on your homepage’s browser and post it in all your favourite social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr etc. By this way you can invite fans to support your project by giving their pledge. Once you have garnered enough pledges, your project can be given the opportunity to be funded; bringing your project closer to reality.


How do I plan my target pledge?

We suggest that you make your goal realistic and put value in your costing. For example if you’re a musician making a campaign for an album, include allowance for your studio hours, food, transportation, etc. In this way, you don’t have to bring out money from your own pocket and to secure your project properly. How do I create my Pledge Package?

Using your Edit Pledge Options Page, here you can customize your cash pledge options. We recommend that you create a minimum of three options. (Click here to see sample Pledge Package)


I finished typing my project why I don’t see it on the site?

After completing all fields in your Edit Project Page and Edit Pledge Options , click on Home and you will see that your page is finished. With the URL on your browser’s page, you can already use this link to promote on blogs or your favourite social sites. However, for it to be visible on the front page of Artiste Connect, management will first evaluate your page within 7 working days. If it is complete and does not violate our Terms and Conditions, you can expect your page to appear on the front page of Artiste Connect sooner than expected.


If in my Pledge Package I promise to give products, who will organize courier, shipping rates, and exchange with supporters?

The creator or artist SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE to the products and services he stated in his or her Pledge Package including: shipping, exchange of products with supporters etc. and NOT Artiste Connect.

Artiste Connect will ONLY take care or secure the collection task of pledges for the Project Creator.


How do I delete project?

Email info@artisteconnect.com that you are requesting to delete project and state reasons for termination.



COLLECTION FAQs :

How do I collect my money?

When requesting to collect your cash pledges please contact info@artisteconnect.com or call tel: (+632)3453795 or (+632)9149701 at least 2 WEEKS in advance before your target date when you will be needing the money, example if you have to pay for your film editor, CD printing, food supplier etc.


Does it cost anything to collect the funds I raised?

When we start collecting for you and doing follow-ups to your supporters-- this is subject to an administrative fee which is 10% percent of the TOTAL AMOUNT OF COLLECTED PLEDGES. This is merely a service fee to handle accounting, to secure legal documents, and to sustain the site. Moreover, we will move your project from Community Projects to the featured projects or Current Projects to highlight your campaign.


Why do I have to sign a contract?

In order for us to collect legally for you, it is a Standard Operating Procedure (S.O.P.) to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (M.O.A) or contract in between Artiste Connect and the artist. The main terms among others in the contract states:
1. You are allowing Artiste Connect to collect your funds in behalf of your name.
2. That you will only use funds for your campaign.
3. The contract also states that whatever products or services you stated in your pledge package, THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE of delivering these goods to your supporters and not Artiste Connect.


What are the requirements to sign my contract?

1. Project creator’s complete name and address.
2. Passport or Community Tax Certificate or Cedula: Number, date of issue, and place of issue
3. Cash breakdown of your target pledge (See Color it Red project for sample cash breakdown)
4. Your Pledge Package pasted in a Word file or any of the likes (Microsoft Word, Open Office Notepad etc.). Your Pledge Package is the information you placed in your Edit Pledge Options page.
5. Email requirements to: info@artisteconnect.com or diego@artisteconnect.com with subject: CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS.


Does Paypal charge fees to the money I collect thru Credit Card payments?

Yes, for payments made thru Credit Cards, Paypal charges a standard rate of 3.4% + P15.00 PHP (0.352361 USD), which will be subtracted to a supporter’s payment. Charge will take place when Artiste Connect withdraws money for a project owner.
Take note that Paypal fees are NOT part of Artiste Connect’s 10% service fee.


What if I don’t reach 20% of my pledge target and still decide to collect the total of the pledges I collected or the funds I raised?

Email info@artisteconnect.com stating you are requesting to collect the funds you raised or give us a call at Tel Nos. (02) 9149701 / (02) 4709800 / (02) 3453795 / Fax: (02) 9149701.
Then Artiste Connect will invite you to sign a contract that will allow us to collect your funds in your behalf. This still is subject to payment gateway or credit card fees and Artiste Connect’s administrative fee.


What if I don’t reach my goal and want to cancel my project?

If a project collects less than the Target pledge, the creator or artist has the OPTIONS:
a.) Collect your funds that you raised, LESS the amount paid to the payment gateway or credit card fees, and less Artiste Connect's fees. However you STILL have to provide your supporters the items they had completed payments. After you have completed these deliverables, then it is your choice to continue with the project, and commit to raise the balance in-house or abandon project.
b.) If you want to CANCEL the project, yet you have already signed a contract with Artiste Connect and we have already started collecting from your supporters-- the supporters funds will be returned to them, LESS the amount paid to the payment gateway or credit card fees. The project owner SHOULD shoulder Artiste Connect's fees.
c.) If your project exceeds target date, collects less than your target amount and you want to cancel project and yet you have NOT signed a contract with us and we have NOT started collecting in your behalf, there will be NO occurrence of payment gateway or credit card fees, and Artiste Connect's fees.


What if I collect excess amount of my target funding?

The project owner has OPTIONS:
1. You may decide to collect or not to collect these extra funding. If YES you want to collect, as long as you can still provide services and products you stated in your Pledge Package. Note that payment gateway fees or Credit Card fees and Artiste Connect fees will STILL apply.
2. Extra funding that will not be collected by Project owner will be returned. NO Artiste Connect's fees will occur through these extra payments. Although refund fees MAY APPLY through our payment gateway or credit card fees, wire transfer fees, or other bank transfer fees. These extra refund fees SHOULD be shouldered by project owner if supporter REFUSES to pay for these refund fees.


Do I pay Value Added Tax or VAT?

The Value Added Tax will depend on whether the artist is VAT registered or not. If the corporation is VAT registered. The artist/corporation that is VAT registered is liable to pay the 12% VAT to the BIR on their sales on our website. Please note that it is not Artiste Connect that is making the sale, we're just the website where the artists post their products, so that it is not Artiste Connect's tax registration with the BIR that will govern the tax/ VAT implication, but it is the registration of the artist that is making the sale.


How does Corporate Sponsorship work?

If a Corporate Sponsor discovered your project through our site, and we mediated your agreement or transaction; the standard Artiste Connect administrative fee will apply to your sponsor’s monetary support. This fee will only occur LESS with your TOTAL COLLECTED PLEDGES.
If a Corporate Sponsor contacted you or went directly to artist and not project owner’s Artiste Connect site. We will not take part in transaction. However, whatever deals project owner and corporate sponsor agree upon thru this direct set-up, Artiste Connect will not be liable for any outcome of these transactions.


SUPPORTER FAQs:

What is a pledge? And how can I pledge? Why does it say Support Amount?

A pledge is a certain cash amount that a person wants to contribute to a certain project. In Artiste Connect you can pledge by clicking on your preferred cash contribution or Support Amount. (Click here to see sample Pledge Package)


What do I receive after I pledge?

The returns of a certain pledge will depend on the Project you’re supporting. It’s stated on the right side of a Project-- the Pledge Options. (Click here to see sample Pledge Package)


How do I give my payment for my pledge?

Can I give my pledge or support payment thru the artist I am supporting?

You can only pay thru the artist, if artist can provide supporter an Artiste Connect Acknowledgment Receipt. The reason for this is to avoid lost pledge.


How do I cancel a pledge?

Send us an email at info@artisteconnect.com the email address you used to pledge and reason why you want to cancel pledge.


What happens if I support a project that has exceeded its target pledge and date?

Extra funding that will not be collected by Project owner will be returned. NO Artiste Connect's fees will occur through these extra payments. Although refund fees may apply through our payment gateway or credit card fees, wire transfer fees, or other bank transfer fees. You MAY offer project owner to shoulder these fees, if not project owner MUST shoulder them.
*Supporters have to be responsible in understanding the project they are supporting. If the project exceeds its target date and pledge, or you have questions on a certain project, before giving support, email: info@artisteconnect.com

If you have reached 20% of your target pledge, signed a contract, and your project is already in our Current Projects, we will instantly give you a Featured Banner on our front page.


I can’t wait for my project to reach 20% of my target pledge. I want a project banner, is this possible?

You can pay as an advertisement or ad banner linking to your project page.

Is the default Artiste Connect financing package you obtain when you sign up thru the net-- artisteconnect.com. When you reach 20% of your Target Pledge, Artiste Connect will advise you to sign a contract and move your project from Community Projects to the Current Projects for funding. This is subject to Artiste Connect’s administrative fee.


What is Premium Artiste Connect Package?

This is an upgraded Artiste Connect financing package that we offer to artists that include other services such as advanced promotions and other marketing provisions. The administrative fee and contract of a Premium Artiste Connect package will depend on the terms, customized provisions and services requested by an artist.
